Snow, Frigid Cold Transform The Panhandle

Plentiful, wet snow—as much as 5-1/2 inches in Hemphill County—fell on the Texas Panhandle early this week. It was welcomed by ranchers and farmers—whose crops and critters have suffered in the continuing drought—and celebrated by school children, who got a day off from the three R’s to focus instead on the three S’s: sleeping, sledding and snowsculpting.
