With nearly two weeks of two-a-days under their belt, the Wildcats are set to face an opposing team for the first time this season.
They open their competitive schedule with a scrimmage against Borger Saturday morning at Wildcat Stadium.
“They’re continuing to work hard,” said Wildcat head coach Chris Koetting. “After you’ve been doing this for a week and a half, the routine starts to get old. So what you really need is to go against somebody else for a change.”
The Borger scrimmage will also give coaches a closer look at their talent and help them solidify their rosters for both varsity and JV.
“Our depth chart can definitely change,” said Koetting. “There’s a lot of spots still up for grabs and these scrimmages let us evaluate kids in a competitive environment.”
Saturday’s action will get going with a JV scrimmage at 10 am and then varsity will follow.
