Rescuing Aud from extinction

A fund has been established for the restoration of Gene Cockrell’s works, including Aud–the 50-foot-long, 17-foot-high dinosaur that stands sentry from her vantage point atop a mesa overlooking Highway 60/83.

Donations for the restoration project can be designated to the “Aud Project” and either mailed to the Canadian Arts Alliance at P.O. Box 777, Canadian TX 79014, or dropped off at the Canadian Visitors’ Center at 119 N. Second Street.

Read the complete story, and see more pictures of Cockrell’s art in this week’s Record, on newsstands or in our e-edition.

Many years ago my husband, Ron Wafford, and I went to visit his sister Jeanne Wafford Sutton.
When I saw Aud up on the hill I was most impressed.
I am not a rich person but as soon as I get some money I will send what I can to keep Aud standing
    Thank you
