Two years in the making, and it’s here.
The inaugural Lady Cat softball season is upon Canadian. Opening day is Friday as the Lady Kiowas travel from Booker to take on the Cats in their home opener.
“It’s nerve wracking,” said first baseman Allie Collins. “You can’t believe it’s here after two years of working hard. All these emotions going through your body, you just get pumped for it.”
The Lady Cats spent all last summer practicing and scrimmaging. Of the 73 girls who began participating in the program, only four came onto the diamond with any meaningful experience. One of those players, catcher Dacey Clark, has the capability to be . . .
