Theatre camp rides again at the Texas Crown

On Friday night, July 1, the graduates of the Summer Theatre Camp will present Aladdin to kick off the July 4th celebration. The free performance at 6 pm will be the culmination of a week of rehearsals and art projects for the 45 campers, ages 5–14.

This is the seventh year the Missoula Children’s Theatre of Missoula, Montana, has conducted the classes for local youth and visitors who plan their summer around the week of thespian workouts.

Mistie Walser is serving as the camp director. Chelsie Murfee and Tessa Francis are the art directors. Counselors are Saige Pennington, Lauren Koetting, Noah Evans, Tom Brown and Chloe Walser.

The MCT instructors are Molly Malady and Jordan Reese Brooks. Malady earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in theatre from the California University of Pennsylvania. She has played Penelope Pennywise in Urinetown: The Musical; Doris Walker in Miracle on 34th Street: The Musical; and Helena in A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Brooks graduated from California University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Arts in theare. His most memorable roles include Clown 1 in The 39 Steps; Matt in The Fantasticks; and Frederick Fellowes in Noises Off!
