The No. 1 Lady Cats (1-0) looked every bit their ranking in their season opener versus No. 23 Roby, Tuesday night, defeating the Lions, 70-37.
Seeing as the two schools are separated by 219 miles, the teams met in Childress for a neutral site game to start the 2017-18 season. The winning programs have had some trouble scheduling teams brave enough to challenge the state contenders, so instead the two top teams met halfway.
It didn’t take long for Roby to reconsider their choice in opponent, however.
