Hoarding treasure: Canadian sweeps Wildcat Relays

All three high school track teams swept gold medals at the Wildcat Relays in Canadian on Saturday. Competitors enjoyed favorable weather conditions—a rarity for West Texas track meets, and Canadian took full advantage, as the Lady Cats skirted Spearman 146-142; the Wildcats dominated Wheeler 225-109; the JV Wildcats defeated Perryton 191-150. The teams racked up 47 medals in their conquest, including 23 gold, 12 silver, and 12 bronze.
The Lady Cats excelled in the running events with sprints, long-distance runs, hurdles, and relays all capturing gold medals.
