Comptroller Distributes $1.1 Billion in Monthly Sales Tax Revenue to Local Governments

(AUSTIN) — Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced this week he will send cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose districts $1.1 billion in local sales tax allocations for October, 4.5 percent more than in October 2022. These allocations are based on sales made in August by businesses that report tax monthly.

Canadian’s tax rebate was down slightly, -0.89 percent, in the net payment category for this same period in 2022, from $61,300.36 to $60,750.82. There was a 12.30 percent increase in the overall 2023 payments-to-date when compared to 2022. Perryton held up with a 5.91 percent increase in net payments, and a 5.26 increase in payments-to-date. Higgins had a slight increase of 1.20 percent in this period for net payments.  Wheeler showed a decrease in the net payment this period: -14.23 percent. Miami showed a boost of 18.58 percent in the net payment slot.
