(AUSTIN) — Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced this week he will send cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose districts $1.1 billion in local sales tax allocations for July, 7.5 percent more than in July 2022.

These allocations are based on sales made in May by businesses that report tax monthly.

Canadian’s $61,636.94 tax rebate for July showed a 26.72 percent increase from last year’s, and its current year-to-date numbers, $445,238.57, are up 9.48 percent from the 2022 YTD payments of $406,653.77. Booker had a bump of 34.92 percent in the YTD payment of $171,336.83, compared to last year’s $126,985.22. Perryton’s figures showed a 3.54 percent increase for the current period, from $263,564.15, compared to $254,552.08 in 2022.

For Miami, the current year-to-date payments showed $47,870.14, a decrease of 4.13 percent compared to 2022. Higgins’ collection gained 23.40 percent in this year’s net payment for July. Follett lost some ground with a 31.15 percent decrease in the July net payment.
