Canadian ISD trustee Courtney Trolinger officially announced her decision this week not to seek another term in the May 4 school board election. The terms of both Trolinger and board president Cody Culwell will expire this year.

“After serving 12 years on the board I will not be seeking another term,” Trolinger said, in a statement to The Record. “It’s been an honor and privilege to serve our community, our district and most importantly the awesome kids in our schools. We have many qualified and caring community members who could serve the district well.”

Candidate filing for open seats on the school board, hospital board, water district board and city council began yesterday, Wednesday, Jan. 17, and will continue through Friday, Feb. 16. Trolinger was the first elected official to announce her intentions.
