The Canadian cross-country teams had a strong showing at their home invitational Saturday morning, bolstered by young talent.
Though the morning started off cool and overcast, the Canadian Recreational Complex quickly became a sweltering, humid course with no wind and plenty of sunshine.
That didn’t stop sophomore Rylun Clark from leading the Wildcats to a second-place finish in the final, and hottest race of the day.
“It’s always that way for the varsity,” said Clark. “It’s nice and cloudy and cool, and then, as soon as we’re up, it gets hot… It definitely makes it harder, but…
