CMS Cats trade wins with Childress in first district outing

Laurie Ezzell Brown | The Record Canadian Middle School’s seventh-grade Wildcats shook off the bye week they had just enjoyed and went right back to work, claiming their first district win last Thursday against the Childress Bobcats and extending their season winning streak to 4-0. It was a decisive 36-6 win, too.

Wildcat JV lets one slip away against Randall

Laurie Ezzell Brown | The Record Canadian’s Wildcat junior varsity owned a 7-0 lead over Randall at halftime of last Thursday’s contest, but watched it slip away in the second half and were unable to answer two Raider touchdowns in a 7-14 final. Following a scoreless first quarter, a 35-yard touchdown pass from Keelan Baileys to Camden Cook, followed by a Jose Valenzuela extra-point boot, lit up the scoreboard for the first and only time before halftime.
